Ferrara – Through May 25, 2008


The Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara serves as a splendid backdrop to the exhibition of one of the most important figurative artists of the 20th century: Joan Mirò. This is the first international exhibit that explores the relationship between the artists and the earth, in the development of his imagination and art. On display paintings that span the period from 1918 to 1956 and Palma de Mallorca: these are the poles of a varied and interesting journey made available to the public. The exhibition was organized by Ferrara Arte and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.


Sebastiano Del Piombo

                       Rome – Through May 18, 2008

The first monographic exhibition dedicated to Sebastiano del Piombo, the painter born in Venice in 1485, takes place in Palazzo Venezia in Rome, the city where the artist reached his artistic top. On display 37 paintings and 18 drawings, as well as 3 by Michelangelo, in a retrospective that details the stylistic evolution of del Piombo, a contemporary of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Giorgione and Titian. This is a very evocative installation, one in which each artwork is lighted individually, to highlight the grandiosity of this often forgotten master.

Walks along the Via Francigena

Valdelsa - Toscana - March 14-16, 2008

Three days of truffle hunting walks take place along the Via Francigena in the area around Valdelsa. This is a new project centered around green tourism launched by Coop, Turismonatura, Gruppo Trekking l’Giglio, FIE Toscana and Associazione Tartufai delle CollineValdesane. In addition to the walks, the 15th edition of the Sagra del Tartufo Marzuolo takes place. The Night of the Templars

Trani - March 30, 2008

The second edition of the “Night of the Templars” the historic re-enactment sponsored by the Historical Cultural Association “Trani Tradizioni” will once again carry out a performance by the Knights of the Temple in Puglia. This year’s theme is the Defense of the Pilgrim.  The event will recreate the arrival, the defence and attack on the King.
