 7th Venice International Boat Show

Venice - Festival of the Sea - From March 8th to the 16th

This year the show takes the name Festival of the Sea which characterizes different from other marine shows in Italy. In fact, its a celebration of the marine world, suited to the public at large, and particularly attractive for the operators of this sector. This year the exhibition route will be broadened and will start from Marittima.

This event is also an opportunity to get to know the principal themes linked to the nautical world: from business to history, from the luxury sea to new technologies, from ecology to nautical tourism.

The Venaria Royal Palace and the House of Savoy

Turin – Reggia di Venaria - Through March 30, 2008

To celebrate the reopening of the Venaria Royal Palace, following a long and extensive restoration, an exhibit was installed to illustrate the art, splendor and history of the Savoys, the dynasty that ruled over Piedmont for almost a millennium.

The exhibit takes the visitor on a path to discover 450 artworks of the ‘500 and ‘600 from the most prestigious international museums, as well as twenty Italian museums and the Savoys residences. The exhibition is divided in eighteen sections, which include the Salone di Diana, the Great Gallery and the Church of Sant'Uberto, which are integral parts.

EQUILIBRIO - Festival of New Dance










   Rome – Parco della Musica Auditorium - From February 6th to 28th, 2008


February 6 through 28, the Parco della Musica Auditorium hosts the fourth edition of Equilibrio, the Festival of New Dance, an event that explores the new trends in contemporary dance with the participation of up and coming artists from all over the world. Created as an opportunity for choreographers to share and compare their different styles and interpretations, the festival offers a varied calendar of dance and movement shows as well as theatre, literature and visual arts performances. The results of such diversity are new artistic solutions in which the audience is greatly involved.

This year dance lovers will have a chance to enjoy live shows and screenings of choreographies and shows considered historical and legendary, while die-hard fans can attend dance workshops. New this year was the introduction of the “Equilibrio Roma” Prize, dedicated to all young artists participating to the festival.


 The Word in Art - Research and the avant-garde in the 20th century

Rovereto - Mart - Through April 6, 2008

The exhibition aims to illustrate the relationship between words and artistic expression of the XX century, starting from Futurism, Dadaism and Surrealism, through verbal-visual researches, visual poetry, and conceptual art, to the present day.

Organized in collaboration with Museion – Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Bolzano, "La Parola nell'arte – The Word in Art" is a chance for Mart to highlight its inventory of artworks and archival records. Overall the exhibition provides an overview of 20th century art from a new critical stance, based not on “fine painting” so much as on “the sublime hybrid of the cross-fertilisation of the languages of art”.
