One more reason to chose Trenitalia’s “Frecciarossa” high speed trains



From December 12th, 2010 passengers on Trenitalia’s high speed Frecciarossa trains will be able to surf the Internet and make phone calls without breakups on the whole railway line


Torino - Milano - Firenze - Roma - Napoli

This is the result of a huge infrastructure investment by the Italian Railway company “Ferrovie dello Stato” and of an agreement with the Italian telephone company “Telecom Italia”.

Adding up to the speed and frequency of connections offered by Frecciarossa trains, as well as top level on board services, including complimentary welcome drink and snack in first class and exclusive Italian Catering in the Restaurant-Bar coach, the additional service will be improving further the great journey experience on board of the Italian High Speed trains.

WI-FI Internet connection and high quality telephone reception will be offered on Frecciarossa  even within railway tunnels.

Passengers will be able to navigate using their smart phones and USB drivers connected to the 3G network. As launch promotion, on board WI-FI will be free of charge for the first month.


• The new service started on December 12th  on all Frecciarossa High Speed trains,    

   connecting  Torino, Milano, Firenze, Roma, Napoli.


• 1,000 km of high-speed tracks, including 82 galleries, have been properly equipped


• 74 new nodes for the repetition of the UMTS signal have been installed


• 60 Frecciarossa trains have been equipped with the necessary mobile instruments


• Free Wi-Fi Internet connection for the first month

Further services scheduled to be introduced in May 2011: on line info-entertainment made available on train portal.
