Gubbio Summer Festival

The Ice Cream Festival

Firenze - May 28th –  May 31st, 2010

The festival will be enriched by a cycle of meetings and workshops on ice cream. Food lovers will enjoy the exhibition in Piazza Santissima Annunziata about the history of ice cream, the evolution of techniques for making the “iced dessert”, and consumption of ice cream from ancient times to this day. It is precisely a 16th-century man from Florence, Bernardo Buontalenti, an architect and painter with a passion for cooking, that is believed to have invented ice cream, which was then exported all over Europe with the famous “crema fiorentina” and “gelato Buontalenti”. 300 thousand visitors are expected to come to “Firenze Gelato Festival”.

Mozart Quartets performed by the Bernini Quartet

Roma – March 28th– May 23rd, 2010

The "Palazzo delle Esposizioni" and the Accademia Filarmonica Romana have decided to pursue their collaboration following the success of previous seasons.  This year too the Bernini Quartet, one of Italy's finest chamber orchestras, will once again be bringing great classical music to the Palazzo's Sala Auditorium with a third cycle of concerts, to wind up its exploration of Mozart's quartets. The Bernini Quartet and the Accademia Filarmonica Romana are thus bringing to a close in 2010 their project for the performance of the entire series of Mozart quartets.  The first and last quartets will be performed in sequence in the three concerts, in an effort to highlight the progress that Mozart made in his handling of the medium.
