www.triennalebovisa.it

The Triennale Bovisa in Milano hosts the exhibit of Guido Crepax and Valentina, his most famous character created in 1965. Many of her characteristics, from her face to her personality at times bratty and trasgressive, are inspired by Louise Brooks, the silent movie diva protagonist of "Lulù" by Georg Wilhelm Pabst. Valentina represents the spirit of her time, the cultural and political world of Italian society undergoing the radical change of the years from the ‘60s to the ‘80s. Reading the works of Crepax five years after his death is to discover an innovative twist in her world. The stories of Valentina contain references to a bourgeois family and home, strictly divided in large rooms, with its different way to spend time and live life in it. The multimedia installment of the exhibition divided in rooms or sections by projections on the walls allows the visitors to physically access Valentina’s fantasy world.

The name came from the creator’s intention to gather the European and American scenes.
