At
it’s
second edition the Music Festival which was born of the will of the two
cities Milan and Turin, also involving the surrounding smaller
towns of these two cities, takes on a shape with full respect and
resonance on an international level.
More than 200 concerts
scheduled around the clock, of which more than half have free admission,
the music ranges from contemporary to baroque including also ethnic
sounds. The old and new
walk hand-in-hand, you’ll hear it for yourself at a concert where
it will be possible to listen to the most ancient requiem of the
history of music or the opera which in 1600 was inaugurated in Florence the grand journey of musical theatre
- a journey that continues to this day.
The Festival is an event which promises many influences and has
already been accepted by the public.

rediscovers the fascination of the ancient path of the Via Francigena
which from Fidenza brings you to
Lucca. New signs, new points of refreshments and
overnight hospitality presents again an ancient route to teach a new
form of ecological tourism. From August 1st to the 10th and from
September 25th to October 4th its possible to retrace the itinerary of
the once pilgrims which was a total of 210 km of nature, art and
gastronomy. For those who wish to go further you can continue to
Altopascio and stop at the remote
“hospitale” build by the Order of the Knights of Tau in the 12th
century.

Veneto Jazz festival has reached its 20th
edition, this year it gives tribute to an exhibition to Chat
Baker who was a guest in 1988 at Castelfranco Veneto. The event which
is usually held in open air theatres anywhere in the Veneto region, presents a rich calendar of
events, with guests at an International level who will be presented in
at least thirty different towns. Concerts, as well as informative
workshops and the inauguration of the new Venice Festival, make this
edition a musical trip on the discovery of the Region.

dance festival of Civitanova Marche which in the last couple of years
goes by the slogan “Civitanova Everything Dances” , is an event open to

from the return of the Balletto Kirov of the Mariinskij Theatre of Saint

Musicastrada Festival 2008 - Festival of Music, Photography and Video –
has reached its ninth edition commencing July 14th and closing the 20th

musicians becomes an event to meet different cultures,

During
the last week in July and the first few days in August Lake
Trasimeno and its surrounding hills will be enveloped by the warm notes
of the Festival Trasimeno Blues, one of Italy’s
most important blues festivals. Trasimeno Blues is an itinerant festival
with stops in medieval hamlets and pristine beaches around
Lake Trasimeno during its 11 days of music on 18 stages for
over 30 concerts, most free of charge with the exceptions of some held
in special venues. The festival features world-renowned artists. Among
them, this year: Shemekia Copeland, Dr Feelgood, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, John Lee Hooker Jr, Joe Louis
Walker, Earl Thomas, Ana Popovic, Pat Wilder, J.W.Williams, Les Getrex.
On August 3rd the festival goes out with a bang with the
concert of legendary Johnny Winter and the closing of the exhibition
“Can you see me?” dedicated to Jimi Hendrix. The exhibition is on
display July 19 through August 3 at Palazzo della Corgna in Cittą della
Pieve.

A collection of at least 400 objects from
Ukraine’s most famous museums and
never before seen
in Italy
is on display in the most important exhibition held this year at
Castello del Buonconsiglio in Trento.
Featured in this exhibition are weapons, extraordinary jewels, horse
harnesses, and elegant dining sets for ceremonial banquets that span in
time from the 1st century B.C. to the Mongol invasion in the XIII
century A.D. The works on display represent artifacts crafted by the
semi-nomadic people who lived on the Asian steppes. Many of these
amazing treasures were found in large burial mounds, known as kurgan,
designed to document the traditions of people who did not know writing.

This free exhibition represents a historic,
three-decade long slideshow of the Massimo Napoletano and showcases the
most significant moments of the life of one of
Italy’s most famous theaters. On
display various media, from sketches to costumes, to paintings, books
and photographs that detail the life of the San Carlo, which opened its
doors to the most important musicians and dancers of all times. The
exhibition starts with the theater equipment created by Anselm Kiefer,
Giulio Paolini, Mimmo Paladino, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Luigi Ontani, and
continues by theme. The event was organized under the high patronage of
the President of the
Italian Republic.

the photographs taken by Josef Koudelka during the invasion of
Prague in 1968,
some never seen before. The history of these images and their author are

one of the world’s most famous photo agencies, and gained popularity for
documenting in a poetic way crude and violent events.

Esse Quam Videri is an
exhibition that gathers the works of five artists emerging on the
British scene that share the same cultural climate, strictly linked to
the city of Glasgow. The title of the
exhibition “To be, rather than to seem” is a famous quote by Cicero from his De Amicizia. The quote
represents an ethical proposition that unites the intentions of all five
artists, whose practice is closely connected to the need to achieve a
real adherence to nature’s most physical and concrete aspects. The works
of each of the artist’s pays attention more to the methods than to the
final results in a process that requires giving oneself over to the
material needs of the work.
