Presentation of the 2002 season in a calendar of prestigious events.

Renzo Giaccheri, General Manager of the Arena di Verona, together with the Italian Government Tourist Board, will participate in a series of promotional initiatives featuring the singers of the prestigious Summer Festival. The Festival takes place every night during the months of July and August where 15,000 opera lovers can take part of the unforgettable experience in a famous Roman amphitheatre.

March 7 - Under the auspices of Ambassador Sergio Vento, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations and as a sign of friendship and solidarity among people, a gala concert featuring various Verdi songs will be held at the United Nations at the Dag Hammarskjold Auditorium in the presence of the Secretary General Kofi Annan.

March 8 - During a luncheon in the renowned restaurant "Le Cirque" owned by Sirio Maccioni, Mr. Giaccheri will hold a press conference to present the 2002 opera season to the media. In the evening, a conference will be held in honor of Women's Day entitled "Women in the Opera", at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo' followed by a performance by the singers.

March 10 - Sunday, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, in the presence of Cardinal Egan, sacred music will be played portraying a message of solidarity to New York City after the September 11th attacks.
